Question:
Does the bible have all the answers for everything? Is the bible written by God, or is it written by Humans? Is the bible true, both the old and the new testament? Is the bible open for interpretation? I get these questions a lot when I tell people I am a Christian. I dont know what to answer them. Please help me…

Answer:

Everything? Of course not. While it clearly addresses many things of Science, it is not a Science textbook. While it contains many principles about health and medicine, it is not a medical text. It has gobs of history, but is not primarily a history book. And so forth….

The part of our life that the Bible plainly says it is sufficient for ALL of something is our emotional and spiritual life. Notice the all inclusive nature of these verses:

  • 2 Peter 1:3as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, (NKJV)
  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (NKJV)
  • Philippians 1:6being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; (NKJV)
  • Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (NKJV)
  • Psalm 36:8-9They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. (NKJV)
