I really enjoyed the write up about biblical grounds for divorce and how powerful reconciliation and repentance can neutralize the pain and emotional imbalance that could result from adultery and/or abandonment.
My question is; how can we handle a case whereby the offender does not feel remorse about committing adultery.
What if the marriage was not base on fairness and equality, if it was the decision of some people seeking their selfish interest and there is bitterness and hatred in foundation of the marriage. What can we do in this situation.
Thanks.

Jeff,
I would only disagree with one point. If adultery has occurred, the person committing the adultery does not seem to have the blessing of remarriage. It's not specifically stated but would seem to go against the spirit of the teaching to assume they do.

Thanks for changing the title for part 3 of this series! That brings me to your subject for today (Wednesday, the 16th). We DO need to keep up with meanings of words that the world uses, and avoid those words/terms! And I agree - we DO NOT need to wallow in their same mud.

Thank you for being and writing. We just are finishing a study of James in our adult SS class, so I printed out your first two lessons for the other members of the class - several said they would be checking out your Serious Faith pages.

Thanks for the Biblical Based reply to Marriage, Divorce and Re-Marriage. It is good to see Sound Doctrine as the reasons you listed. Widows are free to re-marry and advised to marry a believing spouse. Unbelievers are to pray for the unbelieving, but not obligated to re-marry them. If fornication was the reason for divorce, then you and or your ex-spouse are free to re-marry. Both parties are free of the original agreement. I like the program from the Bible that says, hast thou been loosed from a wife, seek not a wife KJ 1Co 7:27 Art thou bound1210 unto a wife?1135 seek2212 not3361 to be loosed.3080 Art thou loosed3089 from575 a wife?1135 seek2212 not3361 a wife.1135
Of course the context gave me a "Whew!" I'm safe! LOL along with a Yosemite Sam! I'm a not a commin out! My memories of marriage and family unfortunately are like a pile of dog puke with chunks in it, it has never changed, I gag, hack and like "run forrest run!" LOL am so glad I escaped. Like Rahab before she was redeemed, which seems like a fishy story to me, Salmon was her Hebrew husband. What a blessing to be taken out of harlotly and given a Godly inheritence and herritage. The sad state of sin in the world creates great saddness in the hearts of so many saved and unsaved people. May Jesus and GOD Bless! those who escape the consequences of such a sinful existence! I'm still studying Mercy, Forgiveness and Redemption. The woman at the well was redeemed. Pretty awesome to say the least. Jesus GOD Bless the couples who are Christian, based on a solid foundation of faith, bound together till death do they part. Respectfully, Jeff
