Dear Mr. Riggs, I don’t know you and I can’t remember exactly how I stumbled upon your blog, but I am inspired by your lovely family and by your sharing practical applications of the Scriptures. I have a question with regard to “criticism.” I can understand when “the world” doesn’t understand us, but are you saying we should actually expect harshness from those people we know who are not believers? I guess in my experience even my non-Christian acquaintances only speak respectfully to me (and from what I hear, about me) even though my entire life goes against theirs. I mean, our every conversation brings up differences. Yet there is always respect. Does it really matter if people we’ve never even met are opposed to us (versus people in our sphere of “influence?”) Does how we say something maybe offend even more than the words we are saying? Thank you Tim. It’s been a little tougher lately with all the pointed hatred coming our way, but that is just a testament to the fact that we are on the right path. We appreciate kind encouragement from our Christian family.

I knew there was a reason why I love your writings and teachings. It is a breath of freash air to read your teachings from a Biblical point of view and please don’t ever stop. Thankyou standing up for what you believe without compromise and your faithfulness to what is obviously what God has called you to. Praise the Lord for your ministry and I know that God will bless you and your family.

Oh I don’t need a warning Brother… I’ve been teaching the Bible publicly without compromise for a decade and I’m well aware of the vitriol and venom. Now perhaps you speak of the storm clouds of persecution on the horizon… I’ve been warning of those for several years too…

Even when you know it’s coming and expect it, it still stings….
