I’m about to publish a compilation of Serious Questions & Answers that I’ve written over the past few years… over half million words worth.

While getting this formatted for a book, I realized how much I enjoy answering questions, and that I haven’t done much of it in the last year or so while concentrating on writing message series and other books.  I also realize I’ve not been able to find time to post here on SeriousFaith consistently and regularly for many months, mostly because of several book writing projects.

I miss posting on the blog. I hope some of you miss me posting too. 🙂

Questions and Answers are a great way to have many different topics to write about, and most answers can’t be written much quickly than a full blog post lesson/message. So, I’m hoping you guys are in the mood to submit some Bible/Christian questions and I’ll use that list to do some regular posts while I catch up all this other writing.

Your Questions…

Your questions can be about the Bible, Christian living, matters of doctrine, controversial issues, etc. I do not represent any certain group, denomination or specific tradition. My only goal is to PRESENT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS, and where appropriate, add my opinion and advice (and make it clear that my opinion and advice IS NOT EQUAL to Scripture).  That’s a roundabout way of saying that hopefully I’ll have alot of good stuff for you to think about, and 2) I’ll end up making just about everyone mad because no one Christian group/person/denomination has the market cornered on “perfect infallible and complete understanding of truth”.  The best we can do, and what God expects of us, is to turn to HIS WORD, the Bible, and honestly try to see what God’s says, then adjust our own convictions to match.

It is not a simple or perfect progression but rather a lifelong, ongoing effort that all Christians must engage in. Find out what God says… and change your life to match. The day you think you have arrived at “perfect and complete knowledge” of every issue of faith and Christian living is the day you have made yourself your own “god”. That’s not to say we are to be wishy-washy and devoid of strong conviction. We most certainly should… but it should always be subject to adjustment using the Bible alone as our standard of measure and knowledge.

My prayer is that people will accept what the Bible says regardless of my opinion or yours…  and simply give genuine consideration to my opinion and advice but feel free to disagree and disregard it.  Some examples of question types:

  • What does this verse mean…
  • What does the Bible teach about…
  • How should Christians…
  • What is your opinion about [some common or current Christian practice or belief]…
  • What is your advice to me as a Christian about…

That’s just a few examples to give you something to think about. Any question about God, the Bible, faith, Christian living, doctrine, etc will make good questions. I hope you will submit several questions to the Linky Tools list below.
