Proverbs 6:23 (NKJV) For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

As humans we naturally look in all sorts of places to “find out what to do and how to live”. It’s natural and good to want direction, guidance, mentoring… a  search for a meaningful life.  That’s why we have a huge self-help industry, “life coaches” and endless people offering their insights (like me!).

There is only one perfect, unchangeable, completely trustworthy place to find this guidance and that is God’s own Words (and a true mentor is only as good as the degree to which they communicate God’s Truth to you).  People often characterize God’s commands and instructions as fun-killers and old fashioned. That’s nonsense.

Our Creator knows (and has told us) exactly the very best way for us to live to have the most happiness, the greatest purpose and continuous joy.  We just think we know better.

God’s commands are a light in a dark world. His instructions are the true way to a fulfilling, meaningful and regret-free life… the life you have been searching for.

Think It Over: Where are you looking for advice and wisdom about life? It’s both tragic and puzzling that we (even most Christians) ignore/neglect the VERY WORDS OF OUR CREATOR and replace them with a bunch of a worldly, rah-rah, self-esteem, therapeutic, humanist nonsense and then act surprised/disappointed when it doesn’t work.
