1Thessalonians 4:16-18 (ESV) For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, encourage one another with these words.

As Christians we often discuss the concept or belief that Jesus will return at any time, but how often do we look up in the air actually expecting Him? How much has His imminent return actually affected how you live your life, how you think?

If you were told “sometime in the next year, a man will come walking down your road with one million dollars in cash to give to YOU but you have to watching and available when it happens”, how often do you think you would look out the window to see if he was coming? How excited would you be? How much of your thoughts would be consumed with expectation? How would you alter your life to accommodate it?

This is exactly the situation Christians are in except it’s not a million bucks, it’s a prize worth eternally more.  Walk outside and look up.

Think It Over: We often talk about, teach about and think about Christian truths but it’s much less often that it actually changes how we live and think.
