Sin Less – Be More Holy
Ephesians 5:18–19 being filled with the Spirit
Galatians 5:19-21 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
… and things like these.
- If you wouldn’t do it with the Lord watching or participating, then it is one of those “things”.
Galatians 5:22-23 22 But the fruit [singular] of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Love – (agape) the deep and constant ‘love’ and interest of a perfect Being towards entirely unworthy objects, producing and fostering a reverential ‘love’ in them towards the Giver, and a practical ‘love’ towards those who are partakers of the same, and a desire to help others to seek the Giver
Think about your life over the last 10 years, 5 years, 1 year, 1 month, 1 week…
- Are you less sinful?
- Are you more holy? More fruit?
- Do you know a lot more but
not doing a lot more? - Has the resurrection made a real difference in your “doing” as a Christian?
